This Texas State University (TXST) REU-Site involves collaborations between Engineering and Health-related fields. The research will focus on cyber-information science and engineering to help serve children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and understand posture control using Machine Learning, Analytics, and Augmented and Virtual Reality techniques. The site also offers research in intelligent firefighting engineering using many of the same methods.

Details of the Site:

  • The program runs from June 3 to July 26, 2024
  • A stipend of $5,600 ($700/week)
  • A travel stipend of $600
  • Housing and meals are included
  • The site will support eight students for the summer

Eligibility:

  • Undergraduate students – sophomore, junior, or non-graduating senior
  • US Citizen or permanent resident
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
